Transmitter throttle problems !!!

I have a Futaba Skysport T4YBF transmitter that came with the Nexstar Select RTF.
Last night I was in the basement while setting up control throws on another plane the Throttle/Rudder Stick stopped
working. The throttle stick seems to spring back when pushed past the half way point. It has a lot of
tension on it when pushed past this point (half way point). Also when throttle stick is all the way back
it tends to wobble a bit.
Is this a problem I can fix or will I have to send it back to Futaba?
Thanks,

You could take the back of the case off and see if you notice anything obvious. I would not do much though.(void the warranty?). You might be able to look at the other stick and "compare". Because they are a little different in action, that may not help too much. If this is new, I hate to say it, but you may want to send it back under warranty. What a bummer at this time of the year[

lownslo,
Thanks for the advice. I have a second transmitter which is the same as the one I'm having problems
with, that I bought for my buddy box. So I'm not completely out of commission yet! This problem just makes it less convenient
for me at the flying field when there is 21 other students with limited number of club buddy boxes.

I had a very similar problem with the transmitter unit for my realflight sim. This is also made by Futaba. I can't remember what the problem was, but I do remember that I took the back off and compared it with the other stick. It was an easy fix.
If the radio is under warranty I would have it repaired. If not, I don't think you will find it too difficult to fix.
Let us know how you get on.

siclick33,
I took the back off last night, but could not seem to resolve the problem. It looks like I may have to send it back to Futaba if no one in my club can help out.

Geistware,
It was purchased in December, so it is still under warranty. I just didn't want to be with out it for
who knows how many weeks while it is being repaired.
Instead of doing anything to it that may void the warranty, I've decide to call Futaba tomorrow and make arrangements to send it back for repair.
Thank you all for your advice,

Hi!
It sounds as if the springs holding the stick has come loose (siderudder spring)...it's an easy fix!
Just take the back cover off and have a look at the stick.

I had the exact same problem. At full throttle, it would back off about 1/4 by itself. Sent it back and got a replacement from Tower. They were very quick about it as well. Mine was purchased in December of last year and I noticed the problem in early January.

FletchNJ,
I should have already deleted this post.
I sent it back to Futaba and had it back in
just a weeks time. Very fast service!!

Geistware,
I don't remember the actual terms the tech told me but,
I know it had something to do with the gimble spring. I believe
he told me that the spring had to be reset nothing was replaced.
I could have probably fixed it myself if I had known what to look for.
Like you had said in an earlier post
I was just happy to get it back in such a short amount of time.

It is better to get a repair history on it just in case you have a lemon.

It's funny that three of us here have had the same problem. I wonder if there are any others like that out there?
It would not be a nice thing to happen in flight!
Glad you got it sorted.
