Trying To Choose A Paint...help Plz!
My DILEMMA.....I want to paint my CORSAIR a DEEP BLUE of some type....reflecting a scale apperance! I want it to be fuel-proof and in SPRAY CAN form....I'm not displaying the F4U in competitions but would like it to appear nice. Can anyone give me suggestions on colors and manufactures....maybe phone #'s ...any help would be appreciated.

I believe Perfect Paints makes a Glossy Sea Blue in spray, which is exactly the color of Corsairs (late WW II thru Korean War). But, if yor going to paint it, why not go for one of the more colorful 'tri-color' schemes, which were used from 1943 until late 1944? This is the type of scheme that Pappy had, as well as the Jolly Rogers squadron, "Marine's Dream" (there is a full scale F4U-1d with this scheme flying these days, do a google search), and so many others had. My Corsairs are all blue, because I use iron on covering and could not duplicate the tri-color scheme using that. But if I ever decide to paint one, rest assured it will be a tri-color scheme.

Perfect Paint web-site:
http://www.perfectpaint.com/
these should be available at better hobby shops, as well as Tower and other mail order places.

While not as correct a color as the Chevron already mentioned, Formul-U has insignia blue in spray cans. This matches Monokote Insignia Blue. You can get Formula-U here:
