I recently bought a Hanger 9-- P 40 Warhawk, used & slightly damaged ( nothing serious) After putting in my electronics & engine, I'm trying to balance it. --3" from LE at fuselage. I'm finding it takes almost a pound of weight mounted to the firewall to do this. That seems like an awful lot of weight. All electronics are mounted up against the secondary bulkhead. I'm using a Saito FA 91 S for power it is mounted as far forward as poss. Also, what prop would be best ? Any help would be greatly appriciated.

I balanced mine at 3.5" and have no weight in the nose...it still noses over on T.O. and landing though....but flys great at that C.G. location.
I'm using a heavier engine though (not much, a few oz...TT .91FS ) and my battery is in the tray (factory recommended spot )
Go to the "Warbirds" forum and search for Hangar 9 P-40...there's a long thread on it.
