Default Help With Elder 40 ailerons

I have got the wings done and have to cut a 2" piece of the ailerons off and carve them out to put the torque rods in.. I have achieved this and was about to glue them into place when i noticed the torque rod will not be able to flex toward the wing.. am I supposed to carve a notch out of the wing or should I bend the torque rods.. the only problem with bending the rods, is it would be hard to bend both exctly the same.. any ideas??

I'm missing a lot of something here. "I noticed the torque rod will not be able to flex toward the wing.." Towards the wing?

The torque rod is built into the wing. There has to be enough of a slot for the end sticking down into the fuselage to move fore and aft freely for about 60ΒΊ.

What Im talking about is, when i attach the aileron block to the wing, it looks like it will only turn the aileron one direction. the rod that goes into the aileron later is paralell to the wing, and can only go one direction. I carved out the block, but it looks like I will also have to carve part of the wing out to permit aileron movement both directions.. Thanks for all the help!!!

Gotcha now, and yes. I believe you probably have to relieve the wood on the wing proper where that block connects.

Hint - put a drop of oil in the tube before gluing it up to prevent epoxy of whatever you are using from seeping in and locking it up. Just a tiny bit of oil is all that's needed, but it can make a big difference. Wipe the outside of the tube with alcohol or acetone before gluing to remove any that has seeped onto the outside.
