Default How many planes a year ?

I started flying a year ago this month . I have have bought or built 13
planes in that time . If my hanger does`nt have 4 planes ready to fly at any given time, I freak. lol And I just keep building . Snow has`nt hit the ground yet and I have 2 builds going on and just brought a SlowPoke kit home.
I need a break but dont want one . Your only insane if you dont know it , right ? But 13 in my first year ? Not to mention 20 + gals. of fuel !
So , how many planes have you guys got in a year .? Dont be shy. lol

Not as many as you but I built an EasySport, Elder,Sportster 40 arf, and a micro Whizz for bumming in the parks. Plus I have an Ultra Sport Plus 40 kit I'll finish this winter. So 4 and 1/2 in one year.

You're as sick as me. It's cool isn't it? I'm trying to limit myself to 3-4 per year.

Are they ARFs or kits? If they are ARFs, 13 isn't many, if they are kits, WOW, thats awesome! I built about one kit a month a few years back. Some were tough, I had 2 or 3 going at once usually. Now I am lucky to build one a year. [&o]

Just about half and half .I still have all my kit builts , but a few ARFs have bit the dust . I`m pretty much done with ARFs , they don`t fly the same and anyone can have one just like yours.
A year ago I had some major back surgery . Said walking again would be tough . They did`nt say a thing about flying. Started flying like a mad man . Had to to walk to fly . Now I can walk and fly and I`m still a mad man . lol Got me on my feet. Life is good.

Surely the motivation makes magics ! And as said RC is the "best drug" in town.
But I really do not understand this multiple planes approach. Sounds like having
many love-afairs per year and newer get to know anyone properly at all.
What I understand is the rush to have another one, but those airplanes for sure
most are away from the perfection flying tuning. I usually make 5-6 changes to
plane prior it flyes as I want it; the planes streight from the pack are usually
not delivering much of performance, isn't it ?
You might try changing the constructions and that is quite engaging, even
more than just to build another one, isn't it ?

As many as it takes, however I don't have room for thirteen! The inventory at this moment is 7 built and ready to fly, one on the bench, just started and an ARF in the closet.

I`m not sick , ? Good , was getting a little worried . I well admit that I`m a RCU junkie .
3 of the 13 were trainers , that ended up with new owners , so they may not count. lol

As we speak, I have at least 20 ready to fly. I have them on the walls of my garage with all the wings in a wing rack hanging from the garage ceiling. I am not sure how many kits I have on the shelf to build, but it is a 30 year collection that just seems to keep growing. A lot of the kits that I have are long since out of production, so that is why I hang on to them. As we speak, I am scratch building an L-19. Good Luck, Dave

back when I had more time I did 18 full builds in a year using 2 a-justo jigs for wings and one large hollow core door for fuselages.they ranged from sailplanes to scale that was 1985-1986.since then I average about six a year.

The ARF in the closet won't be built there! It's only being stored there. I came fully out of the closet with my model airplane thing, along time ago.

I think she means help building and taking them out to the truck so you can get them to the field easier!
