Default Can I mount a fuel tank sideways?

I'm building a House of Balsa Beech Bonanza, using a decent sized engine, so I decided to use a three oz. tank instead of the recommended two oz. There's only one three oz. tank out there that I can find, and it'll fit picture perfectly, but will have to be mounted sideways. Is that alright or not? It's the Hayes tank available at Tower, by the way.

I think you might have problems with that when the fuel pulls away from the clunk while banked.

It sounds like there might be plenty of width, so you could put two smaller tanks side by side and plumb them in series with the clunks to the rear.

One tank should work OK. When you put the line into the tank for the overflow, make sure it is bent so that the opening ends up in the top of the tank As Installed. In other words, build the tank so that the overflow tube is bent toward the side of the tank. Then when you install the tank the overflow ends up at the top.

As long as you do as McQuin says, keep the overflow on the inside of the tank at what will now be the top of the tank.

I agree, as long as you do it like this, you will be fine!
