Default Help programing a Airtronics Radio

I have the new airtronics RDS8000 and am putting it into an easy glider. I am returning to RC flying so am fairly inexperienced with building and tweaking the final setup. Even with this inexperience I found it easy to get the radio and control surface movement set up.

The one place I am stuck on is the fine tuning of the ailerons. I am using the flaperon setting. I have two servos and have the left ailerons set to channel #2 and the right to channel #6. I have managed to get everything centered and it looks good until I move the control surfaces the right aileron seems to have way more control surface movement. This is even worse when I add the flaps. Because the right moves more in the downward position when the flaps are extended I may have a control issue when adding flaps.

If anyone has an idea on how to control the amount of throw on the right aileron only, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
PP

Photopilot,
I'm actually right in the middle of doing the write up for the review of this radio. All I can say is I LOVE IT!!! Anyway, here's what I would check. look at your CNT (center) and EPA (End Point Adjustments) for both of the channels that you have the flaperons set on. My thought is that they aren't set the same for both channels, and this is why you're getting different amounts of movement from each channel.

Hope this helps

Thanks Ken,
for the fast response. I have to say I am very impressed with the radio also having no idea about computer radios but was able to figure it out very quickly, except for the ailerons. I get some response from the TRM, CNT and EPA adjustments under the Al (ailerons) and a different set of responses from the P-F part of the setup. Both of these affect the ailerons but I can not figure out how to make them uniform. One of the issues is the ailerons are to be set so that the downward movement is -8 and the upward movement is +20. I can't seem to find any fine control of the individual ailerons, and also can't get them to balance there movement.

Since everything else has been so easy I am now a bit lost. The instructions do not adequately describe how all the adjustments are used once you start getting into more complex functions like this. I'll keep fiddling and let you know what I find out.

I'm a bit at a loss for anything else that might cause this. I've not set up a plane such as you are trying to do, so I'm out of ideas for the moment. Try posting in this thread about the problem. There are a lot of guys with a lot of Airtronics experience following this thread, hopefully somebody can help.

First reverse the servo plugs and see if you get the same results in movement. If the movement is the same only on the opposite servo, go back and check the set up and see if you have set up differential in one of the channels. If you fully deflect sticks, do the servos have the same amount of movement? Also are the servos the same?
