I recently bought an old rossi 46. The motor is old but still a screamer. The only problem is that anything below full throttle is a deadstick. I tried different settings , leaner or richer on the idle but it made no difference. Does anybody have some advice. Our field is situated on a farm so approaches is not that simple because of fence lines and a public road at the back.

Hi!
0-5% nitro, Rossi 5-6 glowplug and 11x5 APC prop!
Then start the engine and set the high speed mixture to slightly rich setting (reduce max rpm 300-500 rpm) and check the full speed .Then throttle down and set the low speed needle for a good, slow idle. The engine should then respond instantly to full power.

may also be a fuel draw problem. I have several of them motors and you may have either a DF carb or a pump carb if you can not get it to run other than at full throtal, and all settings are correct and there are no leaks on the carb or carb mount.
