Great Planes Al Spinner on Saito 82 Doesn't Fit
Hi all.
My Top-Flite 310 Cessna ARF came with two aluminum spinners (I assume they are from Great Planes). I'm trying to install them on my Saito 82's, however both the brass centering ring for the back plate and the prop nut (with the threaded center to hold the spinner on) do not fit (both too small). Is there a replacement set of hardware I can find somewhere? Is there any way to make this spinner work? Alternatively, would drilling/retapping be a safe thing to do?

Use a prop reamer on the backplate to open the hole.
A hand held tapered reamer in an aluminum backplate? it will not be true. Now this might hurt but I would dump them. They are probably cheap products. Open up the cheque book and purchase a True Turn Spinner with the appropriate hardware. The hardware includes the correct size bushing, prop nut, washer, and locking nut for four stroke use. They are expensive but they fit.

The spinner mounting nut you will have to purchase. The brass insert will need to be replaced with another spacer maybe one from another spinner or you may have to make your own, it can be plastic it does not need to be made from brass. Try another spinner's hardware.
