Default Painting problem

I've painted my Spacewalker 1/4 scale and want to pin stripe between colors. I've tried using the car stripping tape but it keeps pealing off at the rounded curves. Can't get it to stick down. Anyone have suggestions on how I can do this to clean up between colors. As always..thanks in advance...Dick

Why not paint the stripe also? Use 3M fineline tape to do the masking. It goes around curves very well. You can buy it in several widths. The thinner the width the easier it goes around curves.

Bob h is correct dick.Over here you get green or blue fineline made by 3m.The blue stuff is easier in tight corners.Make sure the surface and your hands are clean,if you get nervous you'll sweat.Try using your thumbnail to push the tape down properly when it is where you want it,your finger pads are quite soft and don't push tape edges down well.Good luck.

I'm surprised that automotive striping tape won't work for you. Make sure that it is 3 M brand. Apply it in the curves by stretching it as tight as possible. Use 1/16". The wider stuff is harder to get to go around curves.

I'm not, most of it is pretty average quality wise, and that might be part of the problem. Please don't stretch the tape hard,it contributes to that problem(poor quality glue base)

I would find out what color your Ultra or Mono is on the plane, then I would order Trim Tape... that is Ultra or Mono. I've used it for years and haven't had a problem yet. Put it on... let it sit in the sun a few minutes and it's on there for good.

LOOKS GREAT. Dude, you are finished. Don't busy it up with tape.
