Default Flight mode changes throttle control input?

Not even sure how to ask this question.

I have an x9303 and a 7 channel Rx in a simple nitro fixed wing with a pan and tilt video camera on it with a FPV setup. Not having a head tracker, I have the pan and tilt on the two side levers on the x9303.

What I want is to get airborne, flip a flight mode switch and "lock" the rudder and throttle positions and use the left stick of the transmitter to control the pan/tilt unit. Is this possible?

I'm sticking to the eyebrow levers for pan/tilt functions for now, but I have considered moving the servos around so that the throttle and rudder are on the side levers and the pan/tilt is on the left stick. However, this will make landing tricky among many things.

Any thoughts?

I dont know of any way do what you're asking with any current radio on the market.

If I were you I'd install a second reciever and run the camera off a cheapo radio. You really dont want to be trying to figure out what switch does what in an inflight emergency.

Default RE: Flight mode changes throttle control input?

I helped a guy a couple of years ago with a camera hung under a helo....he flew the helo and I was "flying" the camera...2 radios 2 receivers....this was a learning experience for both of us....the surprising thing to me was if he banked the helo hard, while I was fixed on a ground target, (I am watching what the camera is seeing on a tv screen)...It was very difficult to find that ground target again.....he had to learn not to yank and bank so hard...I had to learn not to follow the target going into a turn.....
Bottom line is we used to radios and 2 seperate receivers
