Has anyone used BD to "mask" off dubro hinges while painting. Will it wash off or peel off? I'm using KlassKoat and don't want to use masking tape. Khelsea

I use the liquid masking sometimes, but not for hinges.
For hinges, I neatly coat the knuckles of the hinge with Vaseline or white lithium grease then wipe off when the paint is cured.
In the past I've done the same technique for CAing the hinges in balsa... Keeps the CA out of the knuckles.

I only use vaseline to keep the epoxy off installing the hinge. I have painted a lot of hinges with all kinds of paint. Never had a problem with the hinge not working free. I would be afraid of getting greese on the parts you want to paint and screwing that area up.
