Help repairing balsa planes
I have inherited two balsa kit planes that my father built years ago. My dad is no longer living and the planes, which are dear reminders of him, have tears in the skin and pieces falling off. sadly, I don't know how to make the needed repairs myself. I live in Portland and am looking for someone skilled in repairing these kinds of planes. Any suggestions? Many thanks.

You can find a local RC club by entering your zip code on this page: http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx
You can likely contact them and maybe attend a meeting. I'm sure you'll find some volunteers to help with the repairs.

Sorry about your dad.
Do you want to fly them yourself or just repair them and leave them be?
My suggestion to you, if you want to fly dad's planes one day is get a trainer plane first and learn to fly from a club's instructor. For most people it is a difficult learning curve at first, you'd hate to see your dad's creations harmed because of inexperience... That is my thought on the subject. Others may tell you otherwise.
