Default Yellow or Red?

Why do most people buy the yellow version of the 4*40? Is it easier to see or is there some other differences?

I don't know if it is the reason most folks buy the yellow one but, yes, yellow is easier to see especially in a cloudy or overcast sky.

I bought the yellow one because I've had multiple red planes and wanted to try something different.

When Ibuild a plane for myself most the time you already know it's going to be yellow, most people can see yellow in any light condition and any dark color will contrast with it and look good. I'm alos very color blind and it's one of the colors I can see very well.

A lot of freaking planes come in red so yellow is a nice change.

For me, red shows up in the sky more than yellow. Pretty much every airplane I've owned has had some amount of red, white, and blue (except the Decathlon - no blue).

I am surprised at how many planes are mostly blue and white. You just can't pick a worse color combination for visibility's sake.

Ihave owned two blue and white planes, the 1/4 scale Extra I finally sold and the Hots is one I built for myself and fly all the time. Any plane in these colors is one you never take your eyes off of for any reason. Ihave lost this little Hots just blinking when my eyes are watering.
Why would I ever cover one in these colors?? Ineeded a Warbird and I had the covering on hand so the Hots is now a Warbird. The Extra was an ARF Ibought third hand and it was what it was. It was cheap and everyone knows I like cheap!!!

The Parkzone Corsair is light blue and white on the bottom , just ike the full scale. Know why the Navy and Marines used those colors? Because you can't stinking see them. I was flying on a gorgeous day with a nice blue sky and puffy white clouds. The airplane literally disappeared several times. It was so bad that I decided to land and become a spectator for the day.

Yep, blue an white is definitely not the best but try gray or silver. Ihave great vision but those colors just turn into a dark blob to me, especially when the sky conditions are just right.

I heartily agree with the the blue/white vs yellow/red comments above. The Venture 60 looks nice but some days I really have to keep it close or it will camoflage itself in the sky. On the other hand, the Taurus is always easy to see.

I love Corsairs but they can be invisible in the air, so, mine is a tribute to this post-war racing version
