If a switch is rated at 125VAC and 5A, could the switch be used in an applicationfor6Aat 1.5VDC? I know that P=Volts X Amps so it would seem the switch is capable of 600watts. So the 1.5V times even the 6A max is9 watts. Help me

Sorry, only Amps dictate the limit for any switch or wire.
Just making a comparison with two water tanks connected by a pipe:
Height difference between the two tanks is equivalent to voltage.
GPM flowing thru the pipe are equivalent to amperage.
Diameter of the pipe is equivalent to the wire guage or size of the contacts in the switch.
GPM X Height difference = Power of the pump needed to reverse the water flow upstream.
