Default Engine match and performance on a GP Patriot

I need some help on a motor match up for a Great Planes Patriot. I've flown 2 in the past. 1 had a k&b 61 with a tuned pipe very fast but heavy vertical suffered. The second was an arf with a Super Tiger 45 stock muffler. The plain flew well and landed easier but I really want to have as much jet performance as possiable. the ARF would not allow a bigger engine with out mods. I have heard that an enya 45 with a pipe has exelent performance. I personally have a webra 61 and the header from my K&B fits .Will this engine out Perform my k&B . Both planes are gone and I only have 1 kit. IF any one has a Patriot Kit or Arf NIB I would Like to buy.

Default Too late?

I know this is an old thread but.. I am putting an Irvine 53 w/pipe in mine.. I did a poll here recently, and the YS-45 was the big favorite, I think a Rossi 45 would be a good fit also.

I am going to receive my patriot any day now and I am so excited... I have decided to use a jett 50 to power my beast and I am going to use a 9x8 prop... Its should go around 130-140mph strait and level... I cant wait...

premo....have built four Patriot kits, and one scratch built with blown up plans(25%) good kit , great flyer...best engine I used was a Webra Speed 50..very light and a real powerhouse..flown with an APC 9-9 prop, it was radared at 127mph level, 140 out of a dive..if you use retracts, get the Great Planes 60 size with the 3/16 wire...the Hobbicos are Mickey Mouse
