Want to get an R/C skydiver - questions
Several years ago I had a bug to get a R/C skydiver and didn't follow through. Now I have the itch again and have a few questions.
This question very likely exist in this forum somewhere but I can't find it. Can I use a basic 4 ch transmitter with a jumper or is some mixing necessary? If possible I would like to keep my computer radio programmed on what I will use for the jump plane and use a 4ch that I have lying around not doing anything.
Second question is not really a question but a request. I've found a couple links searching here to those supplying skydivers and chutes but quite sure I didn't find them all. Can you guys post links to suppliers? Keep in mind I'm not looking for opinions just links that I can check out myself.
Last question. Anybody know if any R/C skydiver suppliers will be at Toledo this year (2011)?
Thank you.

Hey... yes an old 4 channel will work fine. You don't need mixing...
Where are you from in Montana? I'm from Bozeman but have lived the last 22 years in Turkey..

I have about 8 jumps with this guy:
It does not belong to me, but the owner prefers to fly the drop plane instead of flying the skydiver. He owns both, the drop plane and the skydiver.
The skydiver can be found here:

Hello, you can check out our website for skydivers and all the equipment, if you haven't already. We will NOT be at Toledo this year. Majority of my sales do not come from this area, so all the years we spent at Toledo were not paying off.

I can attest to the quality of the rcskydiving.com jumper. I have the "Ultimate Hangtime" dude, I call him "McDyver" (like McGyver, get it?) ha ha... now have 8 perfect static line jumps with him. Everyone at the field thinks he's so cool.JMHO
You may be getting some more orders from Georgia, Dave!

Thanks for the info guys. I've been doing a lot more reading here. Which brings me to giving another thank you to the RCU admins for creating this sub forum since the last time I searched R/C skydiver info. Sure makes researching a lot easier. Any how I'm finding a lot of dead links, guys that made chutes and divers apparently no longer doing so. []

Hey Broodwa,
Our divers freefall also, you know that. I give them everything to do both in the kits now, that way they can do whichever they prefer. Some people are more comfortable with static line, I myself will never jump with a static line, freefall or nothing.

My comment as meant tongue in the cheek, no harm intended, just thought I'd stirr a bit!![>:]

Just using the static line to get the chute dialed in. Now that it's adjusted, freefall is next!!! Thanks...

Yikes Gary, looks like you ran it over with a truck. [X(]
What jumper is that or should I say what jumper WAS that?

RE: Want to get an R/C skydiver - questions
Well I guess I should tell the rest of the story.
A friend of mine bought a 12' Telemaster it came with the skydiver. My friend decided to sell the plane and skydiver and I bought it from him.
He decided he wanted to drop the skydiver from his helicopter, which the day he wanted to do so was not very good contitions, WINDY
The results of when the skydiver came in contact with the helicopter blades are evident in the pic, needless to say the helicopter didn't look any better.
I would glue it back together , but I don't have all the parts, they are scattered amongst the flying field.

RE: Want to get an R/C skydiver - questions
Hey Guys,
While digging through storage trying to find tools to get new shop up and going i came across the boxes with completed skydiver bodies, (4 jumpers) Im digging for the box with the chutes and gear. These jumpers just needed lines rigged on chutes.. If anyone is interested i will set up jig board and rig chutes or even let them go as a 80% ready to fly package.. Let me know if interested at [email protected] and we will work something out..
Talk to you soon!!
