All the major mfgs have a RTR Nitro buggy under $550....HPI 4.6 Buggies should be plenty fast and fun.
You wanna really go fast...look into Losi's Buggies....a lil $$$.
Good Luck

The HPI trophy cars are possibly the worst 1/8th cars available right now. The Losi RTR is no faster than the Hyper 7 RTR (for example) or the Trophy RTR, you can make any of them 'fast' with a change of gears. Which one is fast around a TRACK, will be decided partly by the dollar value.
Having said all that, the Losi recommendation for an RTR is a good one. It's arguably the single most complete RTR package available, the really big advantage it offers is that its supplied with a starter box, far and away the best way to start an engine for myriad reasons, but it also includes a good engine, a good radio and an acceptable pair of servos.
