Which is better, Ofnia or Kyosho?
If you had a choice to buy either a Ofna (1/8 Ultra MBX R2 80% w/.21 for 289.99) or a Kyosho (Inferno TR-15 219.99), which one would you pick? Which engine is better by way of starting and tuning and the overall quality of either car. Thanks Willi

Gee Galaxy,
Thats a gr8 reply...did you ever think the guy was looking for help...not criticism...
Well RC....for the most part this place is full of a lotta good peeps and would be glad to answer your
questions....I am far from an expert but what I've gathered in here your best bet is the OFNA buggy,
they seem to be choice of most and also very durable.lotta hop-ups...good motors.Check em out.

RC,
Of the 2, I would go with the MBX R2. Most of the time, you can make the comparison between the Ofna and the Kyosho but it doesn't really apply in this case. The Ofna is an 1/8 scale .21 powered buggy while the Kyosho is a 1/10 scale .15 powered buggy. It's kind of tough comparing the two. As far as performance, the MBX should kill the TR-15. Durability wise, that I can't say. We all know that Kyosho makes quality cars and I can tell you from my own experience that Ofna does to.
What I would hate to see is you getting the 1/10 scale TR-15 and taking it to the track or where ever and having somebody blow by you with an 1/8 scale .21 powered buggy. That would kill your enthusiasm pretty quickly.

First off, Galaxy! If you have little enough life that all you do is critisize other people's typing (I've seen your name before), get over it!!
Second of all. Even thought they are two different animals and too difficult to compare directly with one another, I have always been more impressed with the quality of Ofna over Kyosho. I'm not bashing Kyosho because it is a decent vehicle, but it seems more to me like a beginner's buggy.

I'm familiar with Kyosho's airplanes and heli's,,, those type kits are of fine quality. Based on that alone, I was going to go with the Inferno TR-15.
Looks like we have a unanimous vote here, Ofna is what I'm going to purchase. Thanks all for responding. Willi

1/8 scale buggies are pretty much the only thing that kyosho builds right. there rtr stadium trucks are a complete joke my friend had one and it broke everytime he took it out, just driving up and down the street.

hey,if you post in a public forum and can't even take the time to make it right ,especially on the title of a thread with brand names you've been seeing on the net for the last week trying to decide...you deserve to be criticized, lol.I was pretty much jokin but thats irritating to people who take the time to spell stuff right. Not a big deal,it was probably a mistake and its fixed in my reply box so he caught it,haha.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but if you're going to post in a public forum, then let's at least take the time to use proper punctuation! What's this world coming to?
Lol!!!

Whats correct about lol? haha. I know my punctuation isn't correct but if I was talking to you,the commas are where I pause.I'm talkin about mispelling a brand name in the title of a thread,c'mon.
I'm not sure whats worse,me pointing it out or you guys messin with me for it.

RE: Which is better, Ofna or Kyosho?
Well back to the toppic at hand. It would all depend on the hobbyshop you perfer. I go to a hobby shop where they stock alot of Inferno parts that is one of the reasons I bought my inferno buggy. Some shops sell alot of ofna parts. Both of the buggies are quality buggys and are grerat to race. I have noticed that my buggy handels a little better than my brother ofna buggy but that can be cured with better shocks. I would go to the hobby shop and pull both of them out and give them a good look over and pick the best one that fits you. You will always get somebody with a bad experiencs with a company or something. The best thing to do is pick the one you think is best for you and where you want to go and make sure you have access to hop up's and replacement parts. I hope this helps you out some i know it is a hard decision.
