Default MBX4 brake linkage

I just installed the throttle part of the MBX linkage kit, and i just can't figure out what the round plastic things are for? (I looks kinda like a washer, but it is thick and has a big hole)

I dont know how o explain it, but what I'm trying to say is that it wont fit? dagass, did u use the original screw that came with the Hyper7 and stuffed it down the MBX plastice semi circle arm thing?

I used only the pieces that came with the linkage. I did not use the 2 black bushings that you are referring to. Here's a BIG side view pic that shows exactly how i did it:

Those would be stoppers in case the silicone tubing slips through the ring of the brake lever, I've had it happen on my MBX and those plastic stoppers helped.

Dagass, that's one dirty car! [X(]

Muddy track + wet parking lots = one dirty PBS [&o] I'll be tearing it apart tonight to clean it. Better yet, maybe I'll just throw it in the tub with my kids!

thats why i got rid of those rubber stoppers and the tubing, and just went with a couple of locking collars..... it will not get past those, and i just adjust those for my brakes..... works great!!

If you use the semi circle thing (obviously dont know what it's called) from the MBX kit, the rod will be able to be screwed in and the hole to fasten it into the servo would be too small, but if I use the hyper7 thing the rods would be too small and the hole to fasten it in would be perfect.
Should i just drill the MBX thing to make it bigger?

I'm working on the same conversion right now. I believe you should drill out BOTH of the ends. Drill one so a 3mm screw slips in and drill the other with a small enough hole that a 3mm screw actually threads in. They are actually set up that way, but for a 2mm screw. You need to do the same thing but for a 3mm screw.

Well, I installed the linkage. When applying the throttle, the rods would not slide through the brake arms without binding up. The only way, that I could see, to cure the binding would be to put bends in the rods like in the stock Hyper 7 linkage. Of course, you lose the benefit of the thumb screw adjustability and would be no better off than stock linkage. So, I went back to the stock linkage.

However, I do like the idea of using a 5mm length of fuel tubing on the non-servo side of each brake arm. When applying the brakes, the throw of the servo is so short, that is seems like the brakes are either on or off. I don't have any real world experience yet, but the fuel tubing seems like it allow for more modulation and control of the brakes. Of course, as a racer, maybe all you want is for the brakes to be either on or off. Right now, I don't have a clue what a racaer would want.
