Hi, I would like to know what would be the best engine I could put in my Duratrax Maximum BX. Right now I have a Torq .16 engine in it. Could I intal a 2 speed tranny on my buggy and would a tuned pipe be good on my car? PLZ answer my Q's thanks

might check into the fantom.18 , sirio .18 , or the P2 .21 midblock. all of those engines will have screaming power in your set-up and you will probably have to upgrade.

On a 2WD Nitro Buggy...there's no wa you could even put even 50% of that power to the ground. Try a fantom fr15. That would be your best bet...Veyr fast and you would still have trouble keep it strait.

i realize the massive power would be hard to control. i actually heard of a guy(maybe the ofna site) who put a hyper 8-port in one and he said it is crazy fast! don't know what kind of $ you want to spend , but if was to do a 2-wheel drive vehicle , i would check out the nova-rossi black pixi. it's a .12 with 1.4 hp and a redline of around 40,000 rpm. i just like to put extreme power in small cars, be it 1/1 or r/c. just my preference.

The fantom fr12 is 1.15 HP and tops out at 41k RPMs...and is at an obviously unheard-of price to you guys....100 bucks! Get the fantom fr12. Good gas mileage, still waaaay too much power for any surface, and you will get practically the same durability for 1/3 the cost.

i have had a duratrax car before. put a fantom in it. great price, amazing power...... look at the fr-18 but the thing is that you need to buy a pull-start assembly for it (ps and one way bearing) and you also need to outfit your car so it can accept the rear exhaust of the engine. but the fr-15 should be a bolt on and will give you amazing speeds and power.

An ST is a stadium truck (wide arms, rear wheel drive only). A nitro stadium truck is the most overpowered RC vehicle because they have the most amount of power for the relatively little amount of traction they have. And if you have a nitro Evader then that is just a Stadium truck with shortened A-arms and smaller tires. So its the same concept.

Im saying that they are all in the same class. In club level racing he would almost surely be put in the Nitro ST class, because the chassis and frame is almost identical. The only different there is the shorter a-arms and smaller tires.
*edit*
And yeah I wasnt really paying attention to the name...what I was talking about applies either way.
