RE: What kind of engine?
Hey,
I have had my Hyper 7 for about a year and half now. I had a few engines in there. I still love the Sirio BR Pro Engine, 2.85hp! I had the Hyper 21 engine which lacks the power. I had a Wasp .26 and a Picco .26 in there. They are a lot of power but the acceleration wasn't as good as the Sirio. I also had a 24.7 which I didn't like. It had some power. I put my friends Picco .21 0-1 engine in and that engine is Fast! This engine isn't as much money so if your money is tight go with the Picco .21 0-1 engine. I have also put a Thunder Tiger Pro .21 R which I got race ported and I was suprised to see that it felt just like the sirio. This engine normally(before the race port) had power but nothing like the Sirio. Right now I am trying to pick up a RB .21 WS7 II engine. I heard this engine is Great! Well I hope this helps you out a little bit.

The s7 is a good engine from what I've seen. Do you have a budget? I would get some good servos in your buggy before buying a new engine. I'm not too familiar with the lightning so I don't know if there is a kit version or not. If there is look at it.
If you are new to buggies I would get a os rg. For $109 you can't go wrong with it.

RE: What kind of engine?
I have the lightning rr and i have the WS7II aswell.
Before you buy this engine i would take that advice and upgrade the servos as the standard one arent all that.. you will need to upgrade the to hardened diffs aswell as the increase in power wears them down quik time.
You will also need to invest in a starter box that fits, look around as the engine mount plate that come in the lightning is thicker than usual so the flywheel is hard to reach in which case find the right box or a new bigger flywheel. You will need a flywheel that is at least 3.4cm in diameter. You can use a pull start but if you gonna invest in an engine like this your best off with a box
If you can sort this the cars a screamer, trust me.

get a JP Modified. they're a little pricy, around 350 but it'll be the best engine you ever buy. at the track my buggy has no problem passing up rb WS II's and p5's, and runs at about 220 degrees.

The JP FX Stocks are about $300-350- but they dont sell them anymore. Mugen stopped importing them. The JP FX Mod runs $450-500- they sell them. These motors are just P5's with different timing and tweaks.
