Does the bar give much of a durability benefit? I cant really see it doing much to strengthen the buggy. How many of you guys use em?

It doesn't add any durability it just prevents excesive body roll ,they're only worth having if you intend to race. If your just bashing they're a bit pointless.

Depends on what surface you run them on. They seem to work great on grass but tarmac they are ****. But i hardly ever run mine on tarmac because theres not a space near big enough. Gravels very amusing but i cant see any other tyre helping on that terrain, except a fatter type maybe. Never tried it on sand.

Funny - it is all a preference thing. From the statement, I assume I you have not driven any high end electric RC's???

Yeah ive driven my mates on road electric car. I descovered i enjoyed it no more than a £20 electric toy one from argos. Thats my personal opinion anyway, if u enjoy electrics fair enough. (but your wrong [>:] )

If you fit a two speed, you not only lose the centre differential (and therefore could not really be competitive racing anymore), you also make your whole drivetrain more vulnerable (jumping is not recommended with a two speed).

At the track where I drive, there is a Hyper7 with a two-speed. And I'm surprised that it can stand all the abuse it's getting. Lots of jumps and crashes and no problem with the two-speed. But I don't understand why he has it, at the end of the longest straight it shifts into second just as the buggy arrives to the braking point. And it's the same at most tracks - you don't get up to high enough speeds to enjoy second gear.
