Before anyone says do a search. I have and read every thread regarding this subject.
I have been racing 8th scale for awhile now, my current buggy is an ofna 9.5. I feel that it is time to upgrade. I am looking at either the Kyosho 777 sp1 or the K 2. By no means am I a pro, just a club racer that races on bumpier type tracks. I know the advantages of the 777, a mm here and 10 mm there. But what would I benefit from the most. Is it worth the additional 200 for the 777. Is the K2 more durable? I already have engine and electronics so no need to spend money there. I guess I need someone to make up my mind[>:]
Thanks for any help

The only reason I sold my hyper 7 and got the 777 was the sharper steering. My track is kind of technical and the guys with the K3's where killing me in the corners. This is the only difference I can see from the new kyoshos and the lower end cars. The car isn't as light as I hoped but it is very easy to build. I too had an Ofna 9.5 but it was way too heavy and couldn't accelerate fast enough. The 777 in contrast with the Ofna 9.5 is much snappier. The suspension is smoother. But the world of the two cars are very similar. I believe Ofna copied the cosmetics of the kyosho 7.5 but didn't copy the R&D. So if you went from an Ofna 9.5 to a K2, you probably will feel as you still have the same car. I equipped my 9.5 with Kyosho shocks and a Kyosho body, and people thought I had a K-car. I was kind of disappointed because my 777 reminds me too much of my old 9.5. I want my hyper look back.
But all of that is just cosmetics. Ask around about the Xray or Prospec if you want something totally different from what you have now. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Mrfranchize.
No I was told the K2 was better than the K3, so that is why I have not mentioned it, but I am not ruling anything out. I want something better than my 9.5. I don't want to trade for the same type, I want a more fluid vehicle on the track. At times the 9.5 feels like a tank, and I have played with the set up on it. Its just to heavy and the suspension isn't supple enough. I guess because I have not had a Kyosho before , so I really know nothing about them. So if anyone else can help me steer towards a certain one, I would appreciate it. I guess it was like when I got into my ofnas, so many vehicles and not knowing the differences between them. So I need deciphering of the Kyoshos.
Thanks Again, Sorry I know these questions have been asked 100x's but just not to my situation and any help is appreciated.

The 777 Sp1 looks like a nice piece of work. I just ordered one myself. I looked at a bunch of buggies and the 777 SP1 was my choice, the new X-Ray buggy looks nice and so does the mayhem, but the Kyosho buggies are proven to be the best, and they are reliable. I have a buddie that has had a K2 for over 2 years and has never broke a thing. He loves it, Kyosho seems to be the top buggy in my mind.

Go to ultimatehobbies.com and check there prices right now you get free shipping on anything over $50.00 hope this helps you.
Also the K3 is one tough buggy and it has all the advantages of the K2 plus the chassis is lighter. There are many more differences but they are very suttle.
Have fun this is a HOBBY
