I'm very new to 1/8 buggies and I've been thinking about picking up a Ofna 9.5 Violator RTR. I want it for running at my local tracks and possibly racing in the future. Does this buggy have good potential?
Any opinions/comments is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Im not into racing but im pretty sure the violator is not race legal due to the wider suspension arms and .26 engine. I would say if you were thinking about racing to get one of the Hyper 7 models, its a good platform to start with.

it is a good learining buggy very durable. The .26 can be touchy to tune. I had one and raced all year on it and it never broke its tough. As stated above the violator is not legal. But some tracks have a portsman class that lets you run this type of buggy and non legal buggies. This class is more for beginners. To make it legal you would have to cut your arms ( I believe the violators are marked where to cut) get a smaller fuel tank and a .21 size engine. But if you think you will be hooked right away as most of us are you are better off getting into the hyper 7 series. More race worthy, race legal and alot lighter

Do not get the PCR!! its not as good as you think, yes there may be heaps of CNC stuff, but i would disagree to the dual laydown, firstly theres a 8 points of cantack in the whole set up vs the 5 point int eh regualr set ups. Theres another ball joint on the servo arm to bellcranks(another ball to pop off) and there are ball cups on the brake linkages(bad idea, WOT may make it drag[:'(]) sterring servo is facing inwards(pain to adjust that way) so your better off with a PBS or Pro
