Is this a good engine? can this even remotely compare to a V Spec?

this is a ripper engine, you wont lose all that much to a vspec.

its really a $220 engine that is discounted to around $129. a vspec is $260.

i would prefer to buy 2 picco comp's for $260 than 1 vspec for $260.

yep - well worth the money! I have one and am very happy with it. It does take a while for it to heat up - but when it does - it screams. If you are as good a driver as the others - then you should loose nothing to them - - I am learning that the driver is a good 80% of winning - not the most expensive or fastest engine. It is the guy that runs with smooth lines and in control.

Where's a good place to buy one of these engines online, i was thinking of getting one as a backup/practice.

I know nitrohouse has them for 139
