i have a hyper 7 PBS. you will probably have to rebuild the diffs and shocks, as the diffs and shocks are not filled properly. dont worry about engine tuning becuase both the hyper .21 and hyper 8 port and nice motors and keep their tune well, and are easy to tune. when you get it make sure you go over the buggy and tighten all the screws. and locktite all the metal to metal contact screws. you might have to look over the throttle linkage system also, just to make sure. i had to adjust mine but some people dont have to. if you have any questions PM me and i will gladly answer them.

Well, like said above, you will want to locktite all the screws that go into metal! They will vibrate out if you don't!! When you are breaking in the 8-Port, you will want to heat up the engine as to loosen up the p/s. Also be careful with the pullstart, as if you pull to hard they will bust! I reccomend a good starter box! I had some problems with my 8-Port holding a tune until I dropped an O.S. 20 E Carb on it.

Definatelt tighten all the screws, also i had to adjust my throttle also. Check the steering servo arm to, make sure it is tight to the servo. Definately recommend installing a 5 cell pack and at least upgrade your steering servo. Hope that helps. btw, I also agree that the hyper 21 is very easy to tune. My fuel filter was loose to, make sure it is seales correctly.

use the 20% byrons fuel. some hyper 7 PBS's have a pull start and a black headed 8 port, and some have no pull start with a purple headed 8 port. prey that you get the pull start and black head. the black head cools better and makes tuning easier. either way it comes with a starter box and you should definatley use it. if it comes with the pull starter use that to break in the motor. if you use the starter box then the rubber wheel on the starter box will not survive, you will destroy it if you use the starter box during break in. if it doesn't come with the pull start then here is the link...

good luck with your new hyper and once again, if you have any questions then PM me.

Not to be a butt, but isn't the point of forums so people can post their problems and many people can help them? I sold the starter box that came with my PBS on ebay and made 30 bucks! Then I picked up one that was worth it...

Dude do yourself a favor ! get the Rolling chassis and ditch the 8 Port, this engine will cost you more than its worth.. They over heat, the carbs are hopeless and they last about 1 to 2 gallons.. try to get yourself a decent motor .. Like a Picco or an OS or even a Rossi !!

perhaps you should give him the link to your excellent break in video.... I used to stick that on a cd-rom for n00b's as I think its really well done...
Should help him break his engine in properly for longevity and performance

EDIT: In fact I found a link http://www.8thrallycross.co.uk/images/engine.wmv
