Hi all.

Last weekend I was racing for the first time at one of our tracks. During the last race, I noticed that my engine was reving really high but my car was moving very fast at all. I mean, noticeable slower. I actually ended up having to pull it off the track. After I took a look at it I noticed that my right rear wheel sometimes spins freely and sometimes it will engage. Now I know that it should engage (spin the other wheel) but does this mean my diff is done? Are they repairable? Is it difficult?

BTW, My buggy is a OFNA Ultra LX Pro with a Hyper 8 port in it.

It's possible that there is nothing wrong with the diff. You may have lost the grub screw from the center shaft cup. If you have thrown a gear in the diff though the repair is very easy. I'd cheack your bearings first before you blame the diff. Diffs rarely fail, but if a bearing in the rear upright is on it's way out, then maybe that is the jam.

If your good with a dremel, flatten the bottom of the grub screw. I also dremeled the shaft of the bevel gears where the joint connects. Put some threadlock on it, all those things will make it never come out unless you want it to.
