how about the hyper 7 pbs rtr? it is supposedly a better rtr than the violator as i have seen on this forum. the jato is smaller, but faster. it isn't race worthy without taking out the 2 speed and the 2.8 in rims. the buggy are probably tougher because they are beefed up for racing already.

the JATO looks like a sweet deal to me. it just depends if you plan on racing or bash? bashing -it looks good! i dont think w/ the .18 you can race it leagally at some tracks and w/ the 2 speed as stated.

the reason why i put this forum on this section of the site is because i figure that someone might be an experianced buggy freak and know what i should get for all my bashing needs. i also put one of these forums on the stadium truck site. but does n e one here have any idea of a good bashing car no more than 500$ with the tax.[sm=punching.gif] BASH BASH BASH!

lightning rr. it's a buggy.
or the 1/8 lightning pro rtr or lightning rtr. these two are large stadium trucks
check on hotbodiesonline.net for exact names.
and using froogle to help find the best prices is good.

IMO, $500 is not enough for a decent buggy and everything else you will need to run it properly. You can get a cheap buggy for that, but a cheap buggy is false economy. There are very good kits and RTR buggies for that kind of money, but when you consider that you also need an uprated steering servo, fuel, glo starters, tools (if you don't already have 'em, most buggies have hex screws), batteries for the starter box, decent rx pack, charger for all those batteries, a couple of sets of tyres, several weights of silicone for shocks and diffs, after run oil, air filter, fuel filter, air filter oil, blah blah blah, these are just the basics and we're already over $600 even if you choose the Hyper PBS which is one of the more 'complete' RTRs available, and that's without TAX!
My advice, save some more money (about $700) and get a buggy, I know I'm gonna prefer my PBS to my HPI MT. 1/8th Buggies are the formula 1 of off road RC, nothing can beat em, they're the fastest, the toughest and the coolest.

i know this is on the buggy forum and its expected of me but i really would go for a buggy. i have both and the buggy seems the fastest and strongest. i admit my stadium truck is garbage and cheap but this seems to be the general impression i get in most places. they both seem pretty similar though so its a case of buy whichever you prefer the look of.

MAYHEM RTR Buggy!!!!! On Ebay you can get out-the-door for under $450. However Foxy42 is correct. You'll need another $200 for supplies if you have not been in nitro before.

you could always get a buggy and put bugger wheels on it. then you get better ground clearance by the axles and still have the solid build of a buggy. thats what im experimenting with at the moment.

infact, i think ill take Goaferboy's advise. take a buggy and put bigger wheels on it. thanks for all the info guys, and so you know, 500$ is enough, if you need any more than that, you are one spoiled person.
