its best to stick some after run oil through it when you finnish using it for the day.
A couple of hours is fine.
Remember when you cut the engine you should leave the piston at the bottom of its stroke.

buy a good pair of wire cutters if you don't have them and keep a nice supply of zip-ties around. I buy them in bulk!!
I don't use after run oil. I just make sure I burn my last tank of fuel dry when I'm done for the day. Then When I get home I will prop the fuel tank lid open for a couple hours so there is no moisture build-up Sometimes they sit a week or two without being ran and there is no problem but If they will sit for an extended period of time I will remove the engine from the buggy and preserve it.

thats what the after run oil is for...to prevent corrosion. corrosion takes place when there is nitro left in the engine. If it's all burned out. the engine is ok without using the after run oil. I preserve the engine by means of removing from chassis, a good cleaning and inspection, I inspect through the exhaust port and check the codition of the piston and cylinder wall. I test for compression by feel. I will only disassemble If I think something needs to be repaired or replaced. "if it aint broke don't fix it". I will remove the glow plug and air filter. I use regular ATF. only a small amount is required. I put a little in the carb opening and a little in the cylinder through the glow plug hole. I use a little eye dropper available from a pharmacy or similar to put the ATF in. Then i spin it over a few times to spread the fluid around, install a new air filter elemant and a new glow plug. Put her in a plastic bag back in the box it cam in. Then when I pull it out I know she is ready to go. The eye dropper is also nice for sucking out unused fuel out of the tank after a crash or something .

You can remove the fuel tubing from the carb and put some oil through that hole on the HSN.

WD40 will work also. I've never used "after run" oil in any of my 3 nitro engines and have had no problems with them in the years ive had them.

The bigest headach i have is when i forget to run the pistion to BDC and it gets pinched at the top.

i was told NOT to use WD40 and putting the oil in through the fuel inlet doesn't work to great. The HSN is only open when full throttle. Easier to just take the air cleaner off and anyways your fuel tubing should be zip-tied to the nipple also. So I opt for removing the air cleaner. you know for a fact plenty of oil is getting in there!!

I beleive for an engine that will sit there for max a month the wd40 will do great.
I'm thinking of using it also.Since it's the oil i use for all my bearings on the car.
And you can spray it through the plug and it will go everywhere!
