Default Single or Dual chamber pipes - whats the difference.

Say you have one pipe that is offered in a DUAL chamber config or a SINGLE chamber config. What would be the pro\cons of each one? (I am not talking about dual or single stingers but actually the chambers inside the pipe)

Thanks,
Chris

The single chamber pipe potentially produces the most torque and horsepower, but the power band is not as smooth as with a dual chamber pipe. Also, the single chamber pipe’s useful RPM range may be reduced slightly, compared with a dual chamber pipe. A dual chamber pipe produces the smoothest and broadest power, along with more RPM potential, but not quite as much horsepower as a single chamber pipe.

so in other words, the single chamber produces more power put only over a limited RPM while the dual chamber produces less power but produces its power over a broader\greater RPM range.

I understand that but how would this effect tuning? I would assume that because a single chamber works in a limited\windowed RPM range that tuning would be more difficult becuase you would need to tune it for that certain RPM range rather than a general setting - is this correct?

Most of the time, single chamber pipes are "torque" pipes. When you get a feeling of both styles, you'll probably prefer one over the other.

I always pick dual because it fits my power desires in the powerband.
