I've narrowed my choices down to the following...I want something thats easy to tune and that holds it. good fuel economy. fast. reliable
please answers and opinions from people that own one or more of these engines...as I'll be ordering one soon. thanks guys

RB S7... There was someone with one at our local track last weekend and it was running pretty strong. Hes fairly new to nitro and he had it running so it couldn't have been that hard to tune
.... limited information but RB makes some really good engines. I heard the P5 was a huge power house though.

V-Spec all the way. It probably has the smoothest powerband of any engine I've tried/seen/heard testimonials.
$289 is a pretty good price for an un-modded P5. It's not insanely low, but it is competetive

If you plan on racing on a track where top speed is an issue, not just on little straight away, but a track where you run wide open for a considerable distance get a vspec, it will out perform the p5 on the top end. But if you have a smaller technical track and are interested in quickness off the start and bottom end power the p5 will out perform the vspec. Don't get me wrong, both of these engines are top notch and you can't go wrong with either one. But as far as i have seen and i have driven both, the p5 has more lower power and the vspec has more top end power.

By looking at that picture i would recommend the p5. If you want to baddest engine there is go to ebmods.com and order a modded p5. I guarantee you will have one of the, if not the fastest most powerful engine at your track.

economy: v-spec
power: all
tuning: all
reliable: all
=V-SPEC...end of story.
You will laugh when others come to pit at 6-7mins and you at 10-11.
I'm buying one just for that.

10-11 mins? I don't see how you can run nearly double the lenth on a tank of fuel compaired to other motors unless your running a small block or just lean as hell. Everyone knows how lean pros run and with their .21 factory engines they only have at the most 7:30 to 8mins of fuel and thats cutting it down to having a dry tank only fuel is in the lines.

That's because you haven't owned one.
10-11 with being a little rich too...working at 210-230.All other engines that i have 8 port, xtm, go up to ~7,except the rb ws7ii which goes around 8mins.
Everybody says it's the most economic engine ever,do a search!

There's 2 there I use, but I'll go for the cheaper for you. The V-Spec is by far the easiest and most reliable engine in your list. The p5 is a good engine but is looking lackluster compared to the new generation. The P7-R is a wild machine and takes some practice to control whereas the WS7 II can be a right pain in the donkey to get tuned right. The Orions are having reliability issues, few are geting past 3 gallons but you get what you pay for. But that rule doesn't go for the V-Spec, the highest Dynoing STANDARD engine in it's class.
