Default 1/8 ENGINE ADVICE

I need help with deciding on which RB motor to go with. WORLDS S7X3 or the C5-BB. Both are 1/8 buggy ENGINES.

ask any engineer. our cars are powered by ENGINES. in common language, they are used interchangeably, but they do NOT mean the same thing.

and ill throw my vote to the V-spec or the novarossi 421.

i agree with the "its an engine not a motor" philosophy but i wouldn't call somebody out on it

anyway seeing as we gone all "Yo Momma" i got a link to some [link=http://www.ogmac.co.uk/sidcup/mum.htm]Yo Momma cusses[/link] for you to enjoy

this one would make a good sig LOL "yo momma's **** are so hairy we all thought they were coconuts"

either the C5bb or the WS7II woild be an excellent choice of engine for you, you just gotta decide if you think the C5bb is worth the extra coin?

I have both the WS7II and a C5BB and I would have to vote for the C5BB. This engine is amazing, I was able to race with it last year at the end of the season and it would walk away from V-Specs. Don't get me wrong the WS7II is an excellent engine as well but the C5BB has more bottom end than the WS7II plus it has the same top end!! You will be happy with either one honestly!!

to help out in the useless conversation of engine and motor. By definition a motor is an engine. go to www. dictionary.com type motor.
It is called MOTOR OIL. People who have cars on the brain are Motor Heads. If you watch car shows, at times people will open the crankcase of the motor.
Motor is something that imparts motion like an engine. Think of names of car companies. Ford motor, General Motors. Car shows are also called Motor shows.
ASAP motors- is an engine and transmission repair shop.

You can sub-categorize a motor into electric and combustion(engine) but both are motors by definition and practice.

OK i'm not taking sides & i'm not picking a fight BUT in different countrys the same things are called slightly different names, or to put it another way the words are used differently!

taking your paragraph above for example

i work in what is referred to in the UK as "the Motor trade" but whenever we work on a car its always the "engine" never the Motor, to us Motors are electric motors (windows, wipers seats etc) & are always referred to as such, we use engine oil in our engines & we open up the engine crankcase!

this is also how we call things when it comes to our RC's

its just the way things are said in different cultures & as we'd all like to live in a more peaceful tolerant world we should just accept these differences

as i said in my earlier post
i agree with the "its an engine not a motor" philosophy but i wouldn't call somebody out on it
we all know what the guy meant even if we do use a different name for it

just trying to spread some love

never knew a one word answer would get so many bites.

anyway in the laymans world. i.e your mother would refer to mechanical engines as motors. which is acceptable. thats why we call oil MOTOR OIL and a mechanic a MOTOR MECHANIC. those terminology are for the layman. i.e your mother.

but if you want to be accepted in the any sports that has engines, you refer to engines as "engines" and electric motors as "motors". they are NOT used interchangebly in rc talk. especially when we have nitro cars and also electric cars.

note when the next engine blows up in F1, the commentator refers to it as an Engine Problems, never as a motor problems.

just clarifying.

cheers
Jo

I HAD A VSPEC AND I BELIEVE THE BEARING WENT OUT AND BASICALLY DESTROYED THE MOTOR. BUT THE ARE STRONG MOTORS WHILE THEY LAST

POOR maintenance, like air filter, no afterun oil, not running feul out, over revving on starter box will kill ANY engine.

unfortunalty OS sells more engines than RB and Novarossi prob 5 to 1, so you get 5 to 1 more cases of mis-use.
