I honestly have begun to wonder if anyone really races the 8.

I have to very good site but I am a little worried about all the talk about chassis flex and bending. I under stand some flex is good but the way some talk on that form are saying about bending what do people here have to say?

Chassis are going to be bent and out of shape aftera while , no matter what car you have . Unless they come out with a titanuim chassis it`s gonna happen . If you have a rigid chassis other parts will keep breaking like on the Thunder Tiger with the tunnel chassis . It was too stiff with no give and parts were breaking all the time . Chassis need to have some flex and after a while the will go out of shape .The H8 has great torque rods and feels strong .

Some have said they have had problems with only 2 gallons throw them. I have other nitro vehicles with 5 or more gallons of fuel run throw them and the chassis are still fine. Yes I check mine often as I race them. As I said above I know you have to have some flex.
Thanks for the input.

It also depends on what these people do also . If they are doing stupid jumps and/or landing on the nose or tail , it will bend the chassis fast . The H8 chassis appears to be stronger than my Mayhem and the H7 , and Jammin` I have/had . It took around 15 gallons for my mayhem`s chassis to start to bend with normal racing . My other mayhem it took 6 gallons to bend with bashing and doing 15-25 ft high jumps . Hobao has been around for a while and done their homework and sure the chassis is fine.

Comparison to other buggies is the Hyper 8 chassis as good? I am not the best drive and I have only been racing a few months do to we finally got a local track and I do not what to have to replace a chassis all the time. I know on my Savage and MT I land too much tail or nose first and they hold up well. Is a buggy more prone to bending chassis?
Thanks
Thanks

46U, I don't think you have to worry about the chassis bending too easy. If mine has not bent yet with the way it has been driven by some of the folks I have handed to controller to, I don't think it is going to start bending anytime soon.

Several of the folks that posted about experiencing too much flex - for their taste- in the chassis .. I respect their assesments. They have been proven to be trustworthy individuals. I have not experienced that with the 8 ... yet.
However; that said - a quick search on ebay completed auctions shows the most expensive replacement chassis with side guards in the last 30 days was $22 + shipping ....
Replace a Kyosho chassis or mugen chassis for that :-)

Thanks all for the input and I sill am going to get one I hope with in the next month. I noticed in the last week Hyper 8 parts on ebay are not as plentiful. I sell on the bay not RC stuff but things sure have not been selling well in about a year.

Or do you recommend changing the clutch?
