im just looking to pick up an extra engine for when my v-spec (which is absolutely awesome at the moment) dies. because of the bearing thing i think it is probably best to have a spare handy. also will my os 2060 pipe work ok with any of these motors. (it absolutly screams on my v-spec)

Have you thought about the novarossi 21-plus 5. It would be a good match performance wise for the v-spec. I have a new engine on its way that i have been told would be a good partner to go with my v-specs i'll let you what it like when i get it.
p.s. I have now replaced to rear bearing in my v-specs both at about 2-4 gallons i replace the first one with a boca bearing and the second with a novarossi. The boca last for the rest of the motor the novarossi is still going strong but it wasn't replaced that long ago.
In response to the post below, i've driven a 21-plus-5 briefly to see what it drives like vs a v-spec. I have no experience with it bar that. i just put that suggestion out there as i love how the v-spec drives and the 21-plus-5 drives similar, so yeah obviously get some opinions on it if you want something that drive like a v-spec.

unless you are a serious racer (which you could be) dont you want a cheaper back up motor like a rg or somthing? Theres a guy in my club that races with an rg and is in the a main almost every race night. But if you NEED the power go for it. Those are just pricy motors
i fergot to add that a few guys localy have tried the 21-plus 5 and have had bad luck with it. it wont idle, runs hot then cold. we checked for leaks and everything the motor is just weird. These guys are experianced too so its not a tuning problem just thought i would tell ya that. The last thing you need is a backup motor that is a pain.

yea i would like one of the pricy motors. i just got done with my first 1/8 scale race ever this past weekend and this is a very fun class. i came in third first time out. so im focusing all of my attention (and money) twords my xb8 tq. all of the ppl at my track are running p5x's rb's no c6 yet though and v-specs. and most are using jp 2 or 3 pipes.

if you do get the C6 i highly recomend geting the RB 2045 pipe to go with it. i've tryed the jp2 with my C6, it just wasnt as good a match as the 2045. the rb pipe just seems to squeeze every drop of power from the engine. also i went from 8 min with the jp2 to 9 min with the 2045 runtime.

If you run a small to medium track, the P5X will be perfect. If you run a medium to large track, the Plus 21-5 might be preferable. The C6 is just crazy and is hard to control. If all you do is run a small track, then an O.S. RG is all you'll need and your lap times probably won't do down as compared to your times with the V-Spec.

see the thing is im not going to be staying on just one track. and even the track i am at most changes quite often. so my v-spec is good because it has great top and bottom end. what is the c6 like though because i have heard that is has similar characteristics as far as balaced power goes. this motor will eventually end up being my main motor when my v-spec takes a crap.

huh? vspec does everything perfect. awesome bottom mid and top. there are no weaknesses. as shown by race results all around the world. if a buggy won as many races as the vspec, then we would all say that buggy is the best.
it took me a long time to buy a vspec, and after having bought one i would buy nothing else.

The JP Mod is a limited production model. 300 engine's. Only 100 piston/sleeve/rod combo's made. I just bought P/S/R combo for mine from RCNITRONATION.com. Good engine. the EB Mod is also very good. They are both worth extra buck's. The mods seem to limit the life of piston and sleeve. About 2 gallons's when run at top performance continually. I have 3 V-spec's running right now. 2 are RB mods. I have one that has 15 gallons through it. I just put its 3rd P/S/R in and replaced the original front bearing. I will keep it as a spare, until time to rebuild one of the other's.

no can't say i have though about one. lol budget is not one of my main concerns. i will find a way to get the cash (i usually figure something out) . plus having an uber motor like i do now is great. so i will just stick to a v-spec just a modified one.
