A friend of mine bought the kit version and built it by the manual, down to the word. Used the included diff fluid and shock fluid. He absolutely loves it. He previously had a Kyosho that he raced competitively. When he set the 8ight on the track with the stock setup, he was very impressed after only a few laps. He did say the kit tires were a little hard for the hard track surface we use, but even with that in mind the buggy hooked pretty well.

I haven't ran my 8ight yet but....

1. Try stock oils, comes with the kit.
2. Stock setup
3. Stock tires. They are very good.
4. The usual I guess. Arms and clutch shoes, air filter, screws
5. Stock setup. Oils come with the kit. I think it's 4-7-2 or something like that.

it comes with 5-7-3 for diff.

just set everything stock at fist and then adjust to your liking. the back of the manual helps with tuning tips. as for extra parts your gunna need a good screw kit and american standard hex wrenches if you dont have any already. air filter foams... clutch bearings... ive been losing the spring cup (losa5434).

The combination of carbon(black) shoes and aluminum shoes has been done by racers for a long time and is not meant to last a long time I run four aluminum shoes with good performance and great life span. I'll save the mixed set of shoes for a big race amain when I need the extra smoothness to pull off a win. That is my only complaint. The tires are great on looser dirt and good on hard packed dirt. They are designed to have the small step pin cut off by the owner if you run on hard pack. I saved mine and I keep a set of proline crime fighters in M2 and M3 compond, a set of Panther Komodo dragon soft compounds and proline inside jobs m3 compound. Plenty of other brand work well. I stocked up on front steering uprights and knuckles, a set of suspension arms, clutch shoes and springs

I would just try the stock setup first it handles great with it. There is one thing I would change though and that would be the clutch springs. The manual tells you to use the silver springs on the carbon shoes and gold on the aluminum shoes. I found this to be to stiff of a setup so I went to using the gold springs on the carbon shoes and black springs on the aluminum shoes.

The buggy does like to ride pretty high so adjusting your droop screws to limit the suspension travel would also be a good idea. If you have problems with traction rolling then moving all four lower shock positions to the outside hole helped a lot. It made the buggy feel a lot stiffer and more responcive but it would bounce a little more through bumps. Atleast it didn't traction roll though . A friend of mine tried using 50f-40r for shock oils and liked it more then the stock 35-35 so it would be worth a try.

Edit: P.S. You need to keep the clutch clean when using 2 carbon and 2 aluminum! The carbon will melt onto the aluminum shoes making the clutch slip more and also wear out faster. It seemed to do fine for an entire raceday (one practice tank, three 5min heats, one 5min A-Main) but I had to clean them after each day. I am going to try a 4 shoe aluminum setup like savage did but my shoes are still backordered from horizon for the past month or so [:@]. It looks like nitrohouse has everything in stock for them.

I'm pretty sure that King headz makes those shoes for Losi, they have them and you can go to www.m2cracing.com for all kinds of clutch shoe options.

Thanks for the info I was wondering when another company would start making shoes for them. Losi's aluminum shoes are pretty soft and wear fast.
