hey guys im gettting the go tech .21 3 port race engine for my st-rr. What pipe do you reccomend for under 50 bucks. And what turbo plug, and does it come with one?
The Dynamite Platinum 086 is a good pipe for the Go tech 3 port or for a little extra money a Go Tech 2047 would be good too.

As far as plugs are concerned, OS P3 or P4 turbo plugs work great.

i run the p8 cold plugs, everyone is always "ah not a cold plug, throw a hot one in there, cold plugs suck, blah blah", and the motor flys, idles great, and the plugs last a long time. motor is never over 230, 225-230 is the sweet spot.

Cold plugs last longer to, all the temp plug is for is timing, and you can shim it to adjust for that, if i works run it

i am totally confused when it comes to engines. what is the difference between the 3 port race engine and the 5 port engine? doesnt the 3 port race engine have 5 ports(3port+2)? i understand that the 5 port has a better lower end and the 7 port has a higher top end but what does the 3 port race version offer? thank you for your time.

Only intake ports are counted.

the +2 is the transfer ports...generally speaking fewer ports means higher torque but less top end power..this is only a general guide though as tuning and pipe choice can also shape the power band of any 2 stroke engine...4 stroke engines do the same thing with more or less valves...I run both a GO 7 port and a 3 port R spec both with a massive mods stage 5 tune...there isn't much difference until you hit a long straight then the 7 port pulls harder and longer than the 3 port...it also sucks more fuel so slightly shorter run times..you don't get something for nothing there..I have to run 1.1mm clutch springs for the 7 port as well or it bogs slightly..the 3 port runs fine with 1.0mm so the 7 port is making its power slightly higher up the rev range ..haven't tried a standard 3 port so not sure how much difference mark's tuning has made but both my engines are very very fast.....

How would the 7 port race motor work in my Inferno GT for on-road racing?

Is there enough torque to pull it out of corners with authority?

Also, how do you identify the Gen 5 version? I'm trying to verify who's actually shipping this version now. AMain couldn't tell me for sure, only that they had a recent shipment from the Dist.

And last, have they finally cured the carb leaking issues with the Gen 5 motor?

The easiest wat to tell if it is a new Gen 5 is to check the logo on the engine heasd. It should have the new 6 sided Go logo. If the logo looks like a tire than it is an older version.

5 port for Truggy, with the Dynamite 053 pipe, should be a pretty good all round package

Get the Kyosho clutch, they really are worth it, check out ebay for a clutch from a parted out new kit

5 port with a Dynamite 086 pipe is a great combination for your truggy. I run aluminum shoes with 1.0 springs.

The 053 is a low to mid pipe. The 086 is a mid to top end pipe. I feel that the Go Tech 5 port turbo has enough torque that it does not need the 053 pipe. If you want more torque, you can tune your clutch set-up by using heavier aluminum shoes or 1.1 springs or you could run smaller clutch bells.

The new Go Tech 5 port with the black head is modified by EB Mods. Rumor has it that the modified EB Mods Go Tech 5 port with be sold for around $300.00 range.
