Snaut,

I have an RC8 (mine is the RTR version) and there are two others at the track where I race. We've ALL had plenty of bad wrecks, like when the jump faces started eroding (bad packing job on the dirt) in the middle of our heat and turned into launch pads[X(], sending all the cars about 10' up and 10' out every lap. EVERYBODY cartwheeled hard or lawndarted at least a few times that race, and none of the three RC8s were damaged. I really don't think this buggy is as fragile as people would have you believe.

El Tigre,

Nice looking RC8! Good luck on the maiden race this weekend!

I just pulled the trigger on the Factory team version and the Mario Rossi Tuned GRP .21 buggy motor!! Looking at Hitec 7955 titanium servos for the steering and a 7985mg for the throttle!!

Welcome to the club.

I started out with 1, now I have 3 and just added an RC8T to my stable.

Good luck and have fun!

Just signed up for the local club's big event and season finale: the Dirtrunners Challenge. We'll see how the RC8 does under pressure.

A couple weeks ago I went to a big truggy race, and fell in love with the RC8T truggy. I was especially taken with a pair of them from sponsored drivers there - running Nosram 21RR engines. Sssoooo, I decided I had to have the RC8T - AND the Nosram, and had to get rid of my Hyper ST. So, I found a killer deal on the truggy and got it. The engine with 2063 pipe though was gonna cost a fortune. Then, lo and behold, there was a used one on ebay - 6 liters through it, from what sounded like a sponsored driver(or at least sponsored friends - nobody else seems to have this engine/pipe combo..) Anyway, I contacted the guy directly and asked for a deal - he said OK, and gave me what was a ridiculous deal - the engine, pipe, and 2x Ko propo servos (2365 and 2366) for €230 including shipping(engine and pipe were gonna cost €370 new..) I know it's a risk - maybe the engine is a dud. But even if, the pipe and servos are practically worth it. Aaaanyway, I've been kind of curious about having matching truggy and buggy for a while now..., and I also saw he had his RC8 for sale, so offered him 200 bucks(Euros) for it, and he said OK.. So all this is on the way..

Here're the ebay pics:

Tires are new he said, extra wing, extra tank, etc..

Will post more when (if... [] ) it gets here.. TOTALLY new to buggies, so sure to have some questions.

V spec will more than do the job.
Plenty of motor.

I run JP-3's on mine, but a JP-2 will work.
Might be a little soft on the bottom, but it will work.

Good luck and have fun.

I'm thinking about changing the throttle servo on my RC8 RTR to a Hitec Model HS-5985MG (Digital). I've already changed the stock FM radio to a Spectrum and wanted to use a high torque digital servo as a replacement. This servo is fairly affordable and won't break the bank, but I don't much about it and I would like some advice before I purchase. Thanks

Well, here's my used RC8 I just picked up.. Was a huge risk I took, cuz I made an extra-e-bay deal with the guy on the side and just sent him my money.. Condition looks very good. Gonna run a Mach 427 for starters, with a Ko propo 2366 for steering, and whatever I have laying around for g/b.. My first buggy!!.....

Only put a few tanks through it so far, but my god the thing can turn.. I screwed up and melted the brakes while trying to get it all set up, but it practically turns inside itself compared to anything else I've driven or even seen.. In a totally different league I would say from my Hyper ST Pro. So basically, it turns like crazy, is really nice quality, and has a rep for toughness too.. Seems like a winner...

El Tigre - love the paint job.. Have actually considered one like that for myself... Awesome trug.. Is that a Go 25?? And are those offset rims?? I thought offset rims didn't work on the RC8T?

I have another quick general question about the buggy.. This thread doesn't seem very active. Is the RC8 not that popular or something??
