If the power is higher in the rpm band the timing is most likely higher than stock.

I doupt timing is actually different...the stock V-Spec is already maxxed out as far as timing......any more timing and she will lose power....I will time a speed very soon, my bet its stock V-Spec timing. As well according to the dyno the Speed only makes more power at 28K..after 28K the Speed falls off pretty badly from the stock V-Spec..its power is not shifter upwards at all............the motor just makes a tiny bit more peak...1.48 HP for the regular Spec..and 1.51 HP for the Speed on the dyno.......... top end HP belongs to the regular V-Spec and so does low end power, only at 1 tiny point int he powerband does the Speed surpass the V-Spec.................. All i know is a properly modded V-Spec will blow the doors off a Speed !

one would think that by now most of you would have realized that outright horsepower is not the main concern of most racers, so what if the standard v-spec makes a bit more power, in most cases these engines are making way too much power for off road conditions.
my novarossi Plus 21-7 will spin the four tires on grass!! Like i said, Overkill.

and a 21-7 is already a very mildly powered 21 as it is....
