A truggy is a cross between a monster truck and a buggy. A truggy has bigger tires and wider stance. Up until a couple years ago people where taking a buggy and adding wider tires with off set hex drive to run in unlimited monster truck class. Shortly after manufacturers started making truggies. You get the word truggy from taking tru from truck and uggy from buggy.

Basically they end up being more forgiving than buggies. They can more easily go over obstacles (like curbs or track dividers in case you get stuck on them) and rough terrain (which makes it easier to control). Also, the wider stance and taller tires make it easier to acheive a lower overall center of gravity / roll center which makes traction rolling almost impossible.

But I have found a truggy does not turn as quick or tight as a buggy.

Ive seen the same trend. Im sure this only contributes to them being typically easier to drive.

After test driving a few truggies, I was not to happy with turn radius, but it did soak up a lot of the bumps in the track. It definatly makes it easier for a less skilled driver than a buggy. I will stick with the buggy, I like the fly by the seat of your pants feel that you get from driving a good buggy.

I was just gonig to post that also. I Just bought an MBX5R and MBX5T and man I am very impressed with how Tight that MBX5t can turn. It has just about as Tight turning radius as the buggy.
