You're a Rock Star INTEGRA.
I find that very interesting though...makes me wonder...[&:]
I've got 10 to 1 that AMAIN like to monitor these kinds of threads and then stock specific items people are talking about here.
This is a copy and paste of what's written at the bottom of that page:
"This product was added to our catalog on Thursday, July 10, 2008."
Slight ko-inki-dinki that about July 10th was when this thread was starting to warm up a bit, eh?
Not that that is a bad thing....It's actaully very smart business tactics and a great way to stay ahead of the competition. Supply and demand, fill a hole, spot an opportunity. I like that. Means someone's using their noggin.
Thanks INTEGRA.

RE: Tire Balancer
My local track is hosting a round of the Oregon Pro Series this weekend so I decided
it was time to try balancing up my new tires for this weekends race.
The Hobby shop I stoped at was more of a plane and train place and this
was the balancer I ended up getting.
[link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHY61&P=ML]Magnetic Balancer[/link]
It works pretty well it's just a little to sensetive and I'm pretty much pushing it
to the max as far a weight capacity with a buggy wheel. So if your in the market
for one I think the Dubro model that the shaft sits on top of wheels is a better
option for tire balancing.
[link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD712&P=ML]Dubro[/link]
I will keep this one for small percision work but I will most likely get a Dubro for
wheels.

RE: Tire Balancer
Forgot about this thread..
I gave up trying to balance them. Its just not worth it for our track...
Was also talking to a few more local racers, even they agreed, it's completely useless trying to balance them for our track. The conditions change so fast.!
Sand gets caked onto the rim, throws it completely off balence..
They do make a differience. But ive given up.
I guess it also depends on the track......

qaiz.....where is the sand getting ? inside the tires ? like with the foams ?

But the sand cakes inside the rim. And it completely throws the wheel of-balance.
Sometimes they water down the track, just minutes before a race, and the wet sand just cakes all over the rim.
Ill try and find a few pics of what im tryna' say. But I hope you get my point.
I tried the lead tape, I tried the Putty, and gotta say between the 2. Lead tape is much better.
Ill see if I have any pics of what our tyres look like after a race.
* Edit *
What im tryna' say is look inside the rim. The sand is caked on. And its still there after washing it.!
Once the sand sets, its a huge pain in the backside to get it off.
And yes, wheel scrapers, I got a bunch'a them.
If the sands like that after washing it, you can just imagine what its like at the track [X(].

Finally someone who understands what exactly we run on LOL. Thats the main reason none of us can find a set of tyres that have the bite we look for. Another reason why we generally run heavier buggies/truggies out here, weight pushes them down, and we get better traction .
It took me a LONG time to get used to my X2 LOL, its so damn light, there is literillay speaking 0 %- 1% traction at anytime.!
Lol go to my X2 thread, you'll see exactly how bad the sand is . Its hardly got 2 gallons on it ( X2 ) and ive already gone through a set of bearings. Ive lost count howmany ive gone through on my buggy.!
We're working on a new track, and we're tryna' get some clay down there. Just to coat it. Worst part is we pay for everything outta our own pocket, we dont charge any membership fees, nothing. So its pretty much outta goodwill.
We spent around $1000 - $2000 setting up teh last race, and most of teh people who promised to show, didnt even show.! So the LHS goes through all that trouble, brings out equipment, spends money on getting the track done, and gets nothing in return. It sucks.!
We'd love to have some organization down here, teh type you guys have it .
You really dont know how good you have it LOL.!
Thanks for the help tho bro...

a balanced wheel with sand in it will still be more balanced then a wheel with sand in it but was not balanced to begin with.

True with that statement.!
Ill just balance them and leave them. Let them get off balance themselves LOL.

Unless your talkin 40series Super wide tires....the Dubro will hack most any MT tire....but if u want to go bigger u can look into something like the Ultimate Tire balancer.

I tried so spoked rims to see if that helped but it didn't, there was still a layer of clay caked around the rim so tight that grooves had been worn in the clay from it rubbing the hubs.
I was looking for a pic. I can't find one.
Although I can imagine that fine sand eating up bearings like crazy.

RE: Tire Balancer
Anyone who wants to be Anal about their balancing and knowing How much weight they have added.....here's a few comparison pics with the tape i use...the tape is what Pro Golfer's use to Weight the head of their clubs....it can be had at some specialty shops if you call around.
tires are AKA citi's I beams and Gridiron's
the buggy tires were out from .7gram - 1.6gram tires varying
the truggy's were around 3-4grams out...3g seemed to be the common...except for One tire that took 6g.
50mm worth of tape is 1 gram.

RE: Tire Balancer
I have had some really bad issues with Proline tires. My Proline tires were so out of balance that they shook my truggy so bad that some of the screws were backing out. After reading some posts that Integra and others posted on RC Universe concerning wheel balancing, I went out and bought a wheel/prop balancer. It has made a dramatic difference in the way my rig handles now. I also use lead golfing tape as recommended by Integra

Could someone please explain HOW to balance the tires? Id like to give it a shot!
Could someone please explain HOW to balance the tires? Id like to give it a shot!
find the light side....mark it....add some weight and play around.....the tire should sit at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock without wanting to roll to the heavy side.
