Default 8ight starter box help

i just got the O.S. V-Spec and i wanna break it in, but the 8ight box can't turn the motor over because of how tight the pinch is. Think heating up the head with a heat gun will help loosen the pinch a little bit?

Definitely heat it up - to at least 160 degrees. The heat causes the case and the sleeve to expand, loosening the pinch. It makes it easier to start and less stress on the conrod.

careful with the losi box and stalling out the motor's.....i forsee bad things happening if u dont get thet heat gun....a hairdryer will work.....but not as well as a real heat gun will.....and make sure to set-up the box to the chassy before installing the motor....this will help in the long run to make sure the wheel isnt touching the chassy....what kind of battery's are u using ? i suggest using a BIG 12V like a car battery for the first couple times....rewiring the box with 12g deans and soldering all the connections will also help.

can i get a better motor for that box? as far as battery, i'm using one i got from my LHS. But i have the TFT chassis in my 8ight, so i don't need to dremel the chassis for the wheel.

I think Integy Lathe motors work well, but I don't know for fact. And definitely heat it up to at least 160.....Your connecting rod will thank you for it.

Loosen your glow plug a little bit and she should turn right over. I had the same issue with my .18 CV-R and after I loosened the plug she turned right over on the box.

tried it, didn't work. I dropped the 8ight off at my buddies house, he's gonna break in my engine and everything, then we're gonna hook my box up like Integra's

Are you using a 12v gell cell??? My 8ight box has no trouble turning over any engine, like INTEGRA said re-wiring it and soldering the connections will help a lot.
