ok i am about to buy 2 Racers Edge 110V A/C Overnight Wall Charger 7.2V 200mAh and i have 3 1150mah stick packs for my starter box. is there something wrong with using a 200mah charger to charge a 1150mah battery? i never really understood what mah was or meant. thanks guys!

mAh is the capacity. Also a 1500 battery would be less powerful than a 3300 battery if they are the same quality/brand.

that charger should put 200mah into the battery per hour, so about 5 hours should fill the battery. i would get a smart charger over an overnight if you are going to race tho.

oooooh, ok. well the 2 of the batteries are going into a starter box and the other one is a back up. i would go with a smart charger, but im running low on money and the over the night chargers are 8 bucks a piece, so if something happens to it i wont have to pay like 60 bucks to get another one. thanks guys, i was worried i would be doing something wrong.
how fast would the batteries run out of juice if i used them in a starter box?

what engine you starting? kind of depends how tight pinch is. get nimh not nicad. and id save up for a fourth pack so youd have 2 pairs.

Either way, don't expect much from only 1150mah. Most guys run something like 3000mah batteries at least. And you can kill those in a day of racing if you have a stubborn motor.

well, yeah...i wasnt gonna expect much from them the batteries are like 8 bucks. i have absolutely no money to play around with right now... if anybody knows off any where i can find a 3300mah battery pack that aren't like 20 bucks a peice let me know.

Someone's car trunk in an alley, local race where someone is leaving the hobby or selling spare packs, electric on-road racers that have a bunch of old batteries sitting around, or an ebay seller from Hong Kong that just setup shop with no user ratings (super riskey).

You could also try anyone here on these forums too!

it'll be touph getting by at first. youll just have to rig things up so you can hook the charger up between heats. i just sold all my nickel packs or id hook you up. the bigger(more mah)the better, or easier&longer theyll last. youll get by though...

lol, i'll ask for some on my birthday in May. for right now i'll go with the cheapies.
thank god for my birthday and christmas, or i would be out of money and parts. lol
