futaba 3pm 2.4 question
hey,
do you have to set the fail safe every time you turn on the transmitter? I read this on one of the reviews on amainhobbies. Also is this a good transmitter for racing? I am looking for a good but inexpensive radio. thank you for your time

You are not REQUIRED to set the failsafe every time you turn on the transmitter, HOWEVER if you wish for the failsafe function to be activated when transmitting in PPM mode, then you must set it. In HRS mode, you set it once and forget it. The manual could be worded a little more clearly on this subject. Either way it only takes a few seconds to set it when in PPM mode.

RE: futaba 3pm 2.4 question
I just switched mine off HRS ages ago for a competition i was doing with a crawler that had analog servos and i never bothered to switch it back.
Have done now though, Is it really a significant difference?

you HAVE to use digital servo's on HRS...if not your running the possiblity of frying the servo's and the receiver.

Boy have i been stupid! lol
Thanks for telling me!
But I've been running it like that for ages now with no harm?
Why does it make a difference?
And what happens to those with one digital and one analog?
Thanks for telling me!

HRS will blow 98.8% of analog servo's....it might not happen the second you power it up...but they will fail at some point....ive also seen my less knowledgeable friends with 3pk's who don't have a clue what mode they should be in and sure enough....HRS on analog and it was still working fine.......but give it some time and they will fail.
