caster fusion
Theres the rtr.
Theres the sport for 250 and theres the pro for 350 or something.
Now if you go with the kits then you need batteries.
You could check hobby city or i got some from true rc which are pretty good.
Esc, You can use the mm or the mmm which is very common or the novak esc.
For motors the medusas are pretty popular, but the best out there are the nues.
I dont feel like typing so some one else can get into more detail.

you can vitrually use any motor but its finding the right size for the car so you dont over heat.
Generally for 1/8 you want a motor about 36-40 mm wide and 60 to 70 mm long.
and generally in the 2000 kv range.
Like look for specs like 36-60-2000 or 8xl 45 1800

Caster Racing was the first manufacturer to make an actual 1/8 scale electric buggy and truggy. Been around since 2004, got serious in 2008 and is an underground small company that primarily deals with actual racers. Their products are similar to Mugen and Losi now in regards to quality and durability.

There are a few bashers that love them because of the price of kits and parts, but they are all race oriented in design.

www.casterracingusa.com would give you all the info you need.

holeshothobbies.com is a great place to buy from and modhobby.com I think sells Caster Racing

There's no kit available right now that is completely RTR. I'll be introducing a brushless 1/8 buggy in the future though, I'm just waiting for the bugs to be worked out on the 1/8 systems on the market.

Default RE: want a brushless buggy

I just recently jumped on the BL bandwagon, but I went the Losi 8 route.

With the prices on the 8ight 1.0 buggy kits down in the $250 range, it just made sense to me to go that way.
Parts are plentiful and the car is a proven performer on the track.

8ight kit $250
CC MMM/2200 combo $275
Losi 4S lipo pack $150
Losi electric conversion kit $65

Those are the main points, but I figure I'm into it for about $900 or so, with all the other tid-bits required to complete the build.
This is basically a Losi 8ight-E, but with the Castle combo for power.
The kit went together with ZERO problems, including the electric conversion part of the build.
No grinding, drilling, rigging, etc.

When I first looked into the conversion, I was going to convert my RC8.
I decided that I wanted to run both, so I went this way instead.
2 cars = double the track time, right?........

First impression is that the Castle/Neu 2200 motor is going to be a handful in a buggy.
On a full charge, with 7K in the center diff, on a wet driveway with worn out crimefighters, it WILL stand it on the wing, no problem.

Should be a LOT of fun on the track.

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore and took the car out to run it up and down the street where the snow had melted off.

OMG, Holy crap batman, this thing is &^*$@*(@$ FAST!!!!!!!

When I could keep the front end on the ground, that is.

I'd say 50+ MPH easy in about 125 feet or so.

Couldn't pin it.
Ran out of real estate too quickly to hold it down.

It's definitely faster than ANY nitro I own or have ever driven.

This might be the end of my relationship with my OS Speed(s) and my C6.......................[X(][X(][X(][X(][X(]

I would go with the Caster too. Get the RTR if you want to get into brushless the easy way without trying to find out what works, fits etc. No conversion kit needed and handles better than most other brushless buggies due to the twing batteries in the rear which makes the weight about the same on both sides. Other conversions tend to tip to the side badly on larger jumps because of the big single battery on one side. The Fusion stays nice and level and helps out in handling similar from side to side.

I run the Fusion Race roller with a Medusa Afterburner 200kv motor with a Mamba Monster Esc. Works great for me. I run the roller because the RTR was not out at the time or would have gotten that instead.

The Caster Fusion Race roller you can get for around $250 bucks and no need to buy a conversion kit or mod stuff to work by drilling or milling and that saves you time and money. Plus it is on a much newer platform and will handle better.
