Default Engine troubles

I can get my XT2 started after one pull, with the throttle trim down to 40%, but when i raise it upto 100% so that the engine is idle is stalls, i beleive its due to my idle screw, which way should i turn it, and how much, or is it another screw?

are you referring to the Idle set screw? if so counter clockwise should back it out, while clockwise will turn it in. That said, turning it in will open the carb, out will close it. best way to see where you are at with that screw is to remove your air filter so you can see the slide, abnd adjust the idle screw so the slide shows about a 1-1.5 mm opening while the throttle is at idle(slide closed) if you are still having tuning issue, you may want to set your needles back to factory settings which is flush on the LSN and it varies on thebut flush is a safe bet there too, you can always check the manufacturer's website, and probably find that info there.

Did you open the carb up using the idle stop screw or by increasing the throttle trim on radio? If you bumped up the throttle trim, then it stalls because the idle stop screw isn't keeping the carb open far enough when you hit the brakes. Otherwise, you've probably got a clutch shoe hanging up and not disengaging the clutchbell which in turn causes it to stall.

i dont believe its a clutch problem just a tuning problem... ?? and yes the engine stays running when the throttle trim is down to 40%  (opens the carb slightley) and now when i put it too 100% it stays on aslong as ive left it to warm up but when i hit the brakes it cuts out

If its cutting out when you hit the brakes then you need to adjust your throttle set screw. First put yoor throttle trim right in the middle. Then remover your air filter and see how far open your carb is. If its 1-1.5mm open then your good. If not adjust the idle screw till you see it open about that much. Now hit the breaks, dose the carb close all the way? If so thats the problem. You may need to take the servo horn off the servo and let that center also. When you hit the breaks the carb should still have that 1-1.5mm gap.
