tire wear on a race day
If you have three 5 munite qualifiers and one 30 minute main. How many race days do you think you could get out of one set of tires?

Depends way to much on the track and tire. Mediums on a nonabrasive track might
get you 2 or 3 race days. Softs on a hard dry clay track or one thats watered with
sugar, heck you might go through a set for qualifiers and a set for the Main.

I know it depends on a lot of stuff. I was talking, in general, what do you guys get out of a set? I am using the Calibers and squeezed out 5 race days on a set, but most of the Mains were 15 minutes long. They cost WAY too much. I hate buying tires all the time.

Sugar water is water mixed with sugar. Its as simple as it sounds, when it dries out is still stays sticky. Surely everyone has spilled a drink on the floor and seen how sticky it gets when it dries.

Yes sugar water is just what it sounds like. Although it can be mixed with caster oil and
other things. Mountain Dew Syrup is another popular option. The track is rolled smooth and
swept, once you apply the mixture it holds together and increases traction. Most of the time
you will run a track dry like this so the cater oil helps keep down any remaining dust.
Here is a video of a sugared track, Notice how smooth and high traction this track
is in the video, kind of like driving on pavement and just about the same tire wear.

pro-line calibers or revolvers will last along time! even the M3 (soft) will last longer than most tires. i ran a set of calibers today M3 compound on an extremely hard packed track and they showed NO wear what so ever, and they hooked up like no other, i had almost to much traction.

they are around 20 bucks for just tires and foams, but they are around 30 buck for pre-mounts. these prices are for a pair (2) not a set (4).
what kind of surface will you be running on? soft or hard pack? loose soil or hard as a rock with not much loose stuff on top?

it depends maybe you could go with a hard compound and with a bigger pin! you might loose some of hte traction but you will get way more run time.

i only run medium or soft compound, i get plenty of use out of them. i have one set of hard compound and they wore out quicker than my soft compound! i dont know why but i raced the hard ones at 4 races and they are gone and i have 5 races on my soft compound ones and they are still in better shape than the hard ones.
