RE: which buggy?

OF COURSE the MUGEN. Is the most popular. Of course is the MP777 WC but that's another story :D. Are you planning to buy one of these? I recommend you the Mugen. Untill now, the poll is one sided (nobody voted the other)

RE: which buggy?

They're(almost) all worth buying....any Pro kit will do you right...enuff said.

RE: which buggy?

Out of the two you have listed the Mugen but there are others you did not listed I would consider before the Mugen.

RE: which buggy?

MBX5 is a good one, as is the X-ray. Also look at the hyper 8.5 and jammin.
All are better than the hotbodies IMO

RE: which buggy?

Hyper 8.5 very durable and priced right. :D

hotbodiesboi123 01-01-2008 09:02 PM

RE: which buggy?

under $500 whats better Mugen MBX5 or OFNA HYPER 8.5 i want to PWN people at my track :]

46u 01-01-2008 09:25 PM

RE: which buggy?

Keep in mind winning races is about 20% the buggy and 80% driver. With that said I recommend the 8.5!

jonnymac 01-01-2008 09:26 PM

RE: which buggy?

The hyper 8.5 is THE best value for money buggy on the market.
Not that its better than the mugen, but its no worse, more modern and cheaper for spares.

hotbodiesboi123 01-01-2008 10:13 PM

RE: which buggy?

umm but the Mugen MBX5 is cheaper then the hyper 8.5 on amainhobbies.com

RE: which buggy?

Keep in mind the Mugen model you are looking at is the low-end model. Are you going to race or just bash? If you are sold on the Mugen go for it and have fun.

hotbodiesboi123 01-02-2008 12:45 AM

RE: which buggy?

for sure im gonna be racing :]

RE: which buggy?

I'm thinking of buying one too for bashing. I don't want to mess my MP777 with that engine on it. I'm thinking of buying a Hyper 8 or Hyper 8.5. Is there any dramatic differences?

rcmxsports 01-02-2008 02:53 AM

RE: which buggy?

WHAT???? the mugen mbx5 is the cheaper model I have one and in no way is it low end and the difference between the mbx5r is very little nothing that will ever effect the way it performs on the track and I have some of the upgrades that the R has and trust me no difference.

The hyper 8.5 is awesome beefy and is a very nice kit.

Hotbodies well the ones I owned years ago only fell apart and were not very competitive but I have no knowledge of there improvments now so can say much on that one.

Just don't get a Losi 8 unless you have a big bank account to keep it together

hotbodiesboi123 01-02-2008 05:46 AM

RE: which buggy?

crap i cant decied they both look so great lol. rcmxsports is it easy to control on the track?

Osirisf16 01-02-2008 07:01 AM

RE: which buggy?

GET BOTH :D:):D Just kidding. In my opinion, try compare the performance of the 2 cars

RE: which buggy?

Even thaw many of the parts on the Hyper 8 and 8.5 are interchangeable there are some very affective changes on the 8.5 like longer chassis, big bore shocks, center dif brace and much MORE. Some talk about how much less expressive the Hyper 8.5 is then many of your high end buggy kits and this is because HoBao makes all there parts as well as parts for other brands like Kyosho. :D

jonnymac 01-02-2008 08:31 PM

RE: which buggy?

OK the only the only problem with the hyper 8.5 is it is not highly desirable in the way a mugen is. It will wipe the floor with an MBX5 on any given day with a good driver. If you want to save money and get a damn good racer (that is proven in the worlds and euros) get the hyper. Here in the UK they are VERY popular so people go mugen for something different. In the US its a different ball game as everyone seems to have losi's. Either way you cant go wrong ;)

RE: which buggy?

I hope they made big changes on the 8.5. I had the hyper 8 and it was a pig.

Osirisf16 01-03-2008 02:29 AM

RE: which buggy?

What do you mean by pig? :)

RE: which buggy?

lol i love hot bodies its just their not really good for racing i mean my lighting is gonna fall apart sooner or later..... hmm sorry but just wondering what do you guys think about sportwerks turmoil or the mayhem??? :] lol

RE: which buggy?

Ahhh...that bashing matter. Everytime i bash with my MP777 i want parts because either one is broken(very rarely but it happens, it's 1,5 years old now), either i want something to fill it up with performance and they ARE NOT cheap (Kyosho). I buy a Hyper 8 for that bashing matter and yes...is going to be A REAL PIG in my control :D. After my missions:D, i'm thinking of buying a mugen, of course is not my life these things (i have girlfriend and family "soon"(when i'm going to be 27) to take care), i'm going to be about 30 years old :):):)
