OF COURSE the MUGEN. Is the most popular. Of course is the MP777 WC but that's another story
. Are you planning to buy one of these? I recommend you the Mugen. Untill now, the poll is one sided (nobody voted the other)

The hyper 8.5 is THE best value for money buggy on the market.
Not that its better than the mugen, but its no worse, more modern and cheaper for spares.

I'm thinking of buying one too for bashing. I don't want to mess my MP777 with that engine on it. I'm thinking of buying a Hyper 8 or Hyper 8.5. Is there any dramatic differences?

WHAT???? the mugen mbx5 is the cheaper model I have one and in no way is it low end and the difference between the mbx5r is very little nothing that will ever effect the way it performs on the track and I have some of the upgrades that the R has and trust me no difference.
The hyper 8.5 is awesome beefy and is a very nice kit.
Hotbodies well the ones I owned years ago only fell apart and were not very competitive but I have no knowledge of there improvments now so can say much on that one.
Just don't get a Losi 8 unless you have a big bank account to keep it together

Even thaw many of the parts on the Hyper 8 and 8.5 are interchangeable there are some very affective changes on the 8.5 like longer chassis, big bore shocks, center dif brace and much MORE. Some talk about how much less expressive the Hyper 8.5 is then many of your high end buggy kits and this is because HoBao makes all there parts as well as parts for other brands like Kyosho.

OK the only the only problem with the hyper 8.5 is it is not highly desirable in the way a mugen is. It will wipe the floor with an MBX5 on any given day with a good driver. If you want to save money and get a damn good racer (that is proven in the worlds and euros) get the hyper. Here in the UK they are VERY popular so people go mugen for something different. In the US its a different ball game as everyone seems to have losi's. Either way you cant go wrong

Ahhh...that bashing matter. Everytime i bash with my MP777 i want parts because either one is broken(very rarely but it happens, it's 1,5 years old now), either i want something to fill it up with performance and they ARE NOT cheap (Kyosho). I buy a Hyper 8 for that bashing matter and yes...is going to be A REAL PIG in my control
. After my missions
, i'm thinking of buying a mugen, of course is not my life these things (i have girlfriend and family "soon"(when i'm going to be 27) to take care), i'm going to be about 30 years old
