Default Flotation

I'm getting a pair of drums of 2 part foam flotation. This is the same stuff that the Navy use. I'm also getting a couple cases of 4oz and 8oz. bottles. This is a part A and part B mix that is mixed 1 to 1. I will have the sets up for sale. $32.00 gal. 1/2gal. part A 1/2 gal. part B.

For the 1/2 gal. , what type of container will it come in? Adequately sealed? Any idea as to shelf life?

HALJMAC ,
ANy specs on the foam ? Expansion rate , drying/curing time ,density , weight of cured product , fuel resistant , and working time ( meaning - how long do you have before it starts to expand ) ?
And , the questions that PRO asked also .
Say , for example , DHP foam , do you know how it compares to this ? Also , if better , or comparable , then by all means , YES , it is DEFINATELY worth it . ( actually a BIG savings over DHP brand )
I will probably be very interested . Any figures on shipping costs and methods also ? ( since this COULD be murder .... )

I'm planning to get plastic bottles, the ones like what epoxy is sold in. I'm also doing research on larger containers. Trying to find what would be best to avoid having a mess when you are just needing a little at a time.
One gallon of raw mix is 10.1 lbs, which will make 5 cubic feet of foam. Thats 1/2 gal. part A and 1/2 gal. part B. This comes out to a weight of 2 lbs for a 12" X 12" X 12" foam.
1qrt. of raw mix will make 1.25 cubic feet of foam.
This is the same stuff that is used in boats like the Boston Whaile, and other Bass boats. It is also used in some ice chest for insulation.
Expansion time depends on the temp when mixxed. It works better when it is warmed to around 120 degrees. You'll get better expansion, useing less with the end result of having better flotation at a lighter weight.
Shipping, I'm still looking into.
Shelf life, as for an exact date, I will find out. I know that it will be in years.

IMO, what you stated pricewise for 1 gal, it's a great deal. The stuff I have used from SIG was pretty expensive for only 1 pint of the stuff.
Also, I checked the SIG website, and couldn't find it listed. So I don't know if it's available anymore.
Looking forward to you having some available.

Exact 2-part flotation kit--11.95--WHH__products--accs--item 20--makes 1 cubic foot--floats 60 lbs.. Does not state bottle sizes.Does that help?

I think I paid like $11 or $12 for what I had been using. Came in metal cans who's caps would become very hard to remove if you got any of the stuff on the threads of the cap[]

Poured out and looked like molassas, but sure didn't smell like it.
